     At Armuchee High School, our emphasis in instrumental music is placed on educating as many students as we can to the utmost degree that we can. We believe that instrumental music in the public school system should offer the opportunity to teach an instrument to any student that shows an interest in learning. As the program grows and distinguishes itself, more performance opportunities will arise for the bands.

     We realize that different students aspire to different levels; some students just want to participate, while others aspire to achieve the highest performance levels possible. We believe that the band program at Armuchee accommodates both interests. The only requirement for inclusion in band is the willingness to learn, and access to an instrument.
Instrumental students at Armuchee High School are offered in a variety of performing experiences, such as Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and various solo and small ensembles opportunities. The students also are offered opportunities to audition for All-State and All-District Honors band, as well as several university-sponsored honor bands.

     Music is truly a universal language. Anyone, no matter what race, creed, or nationality, enjoys music on one level or another. Rarely does a person travel anywhere without music: either by radio, CD or mp3 player, or other media. Our program is all about making the connections to real world situations and events in music and in life for the student, school, and community, so come join us on our quest for excellence.
