At Armuchee High School, we strive to have the most well-rounded music program that any school can offer. Our belief is that instrumental music in public schools should offer the opportunity to teach an instrument to any student that shows an interest in, and dedication to, learning. As our program continues to grow, our band will offer a greater number of performance opportunities.
It is well understood that students will always aspire to different levels of success while enrolled in our band program. Some students just want to participate while other students aspire to achieve the highest performance levels possible. We believe that the band program at Armuchee High School allows for the accommodation of both interest levels.
Instrumental students at Armuchee High School are offered a variety of performing ensemble experiences. A few of these ensembles include The Pride of the Indians Marching Band, the Symphonic Band, and in the near future, Armuchee High School Jazz Band. Our students are also offered the opportunities to audition for All-State Honor Band, District 7 Honor Band, Jacksonville State University Honor Band, Floyd County Honor Band, and several other performing ensembles.
Music is truly a universal language. Anyone, no matter what race, creed, or nationality, enjoys music on one level or another. Rarely does a person travel anywhere without music: either by radio, CD or mp3 player, or other media. Our program is all about making the connections to real world situations and events in music and in life for the student, school, and community, so come join us on our quest for excellence.
